FC 27 Clubs Explained

The Grounds, Club Tournaments, archetypes and divisions: what's in Clubs this year, and how to keep track of your own club.

What is Clubs in FC 27?

Clubs is the online team mode in EA FC 27, the one most players still call Pro Clubs. Instead of controlling a whole side, each person plays as a single virtual pro, and a group of mates forms a club that plays other clubs in leagues, playoffs and, new this year, tournaments.

If you searched for “FC 27 Clubs” looking for the list of licensed real-world teams in the game, this isn't that page. This guide is about the mode where you and your friends are the team.

The Grounds

The headline change for FC 27 is The Grounds: a shared space that, according to EA, holds up to 100 players at once. It works as a hub for the mode, somewhere to meet your club, mess about and find a game.

Small-sided matches

1v1, 2v2, 3v3 and Rush games that last three minutes. Good for warming up while the rest of the squad logs on.

Kickabouts

Mini-games such as Bocce Ball, Team Keepaway, Big Race, Bucket Ball, Balloon Ball and Goal Control, plus Drop Kick Targets scattered around the world.

Stadium drop-in

Walk into a stadium for drop-in 11v11 or Rush matchmaking when you don't have a full club online.

Leagues, playoffs and Club Tournaments

Competitive Clubs still runs through leagues and playoffs. There are six tiers: Division 5 at the bottom, up through Division 1, then Ultimate. Win enough in a season to go up; lose too many and you drop.

New for FC 27 are Club Tournaments, 11v11 competitions that sit alongside leagues and playoffs. Some come with house rules that change how a match plays, such as Mystery Ball, King of the Hill, Headers and Volleys, Survival and Long Range.

Archetypes, Masteries and Amps

Building your pro has had a shake-up too:

  • Every archetype is unlocked from the start, and switching between them no longer costs anything, so you can try a new role without regretting it.
  • Masteries are permanent attribute boosts you earn by hitting milestones with an archetype. They carry over to all your builds.
  • Amps are temporary boosts you equip: three at a time, two Standard and one Signature.
  • Club Objectives give the whole club shared goals: milestones, weeklies, seasonals and objectives for Elite Division clubs.

For which archetype suits which position, see How to Build the Perfect Virtual Pro and Pro Clubs Positions Explained.

Platforms and cross-play

Clubs are grouped by console generation. PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC share one pool, so clubs on any of those play each other. Nintendo Switch clubs are in a pool of their own.

That matters when you look a club up: if a search comes back empty, check you've picked the right pool before assuming the club doesn't exist.

Tracking your Clubs stats

The in-game menus give you a handful of headline numbers. Pro Clubs Tracker is a free fan site that reads what EA makes publicly visible and shows more of it: each player's ratings, recent match history, form, and how your squad compares head to head.
